How do I pick my color?

At the end of the campaign, we will contact you to get more information including your color choice, shipping information and confirmation of any add-ons you selected.

How do add-ons work?

We currently offer four add-ons for your order for US backers only. To add an add-on to your order, simply increase your pledge level by the amount of that add-on PLUS the flat shipping charge of $4.00 per add-on. The costs of the add-ons are as follow:

Mella in Arctic Blue: $39 + $4 per unit added Mella in Blush Pink: $39 + $4 per unit added Mella in Bright Purple: $39 + $4 per unit added Little Hippo Mug: $20 + $4 per unit added

Please see the examples below:

Limited Edition Mella + Little Hippo Mug = $46 + $20 + 4 = $ 70 (this total excludes the base shipping charge).

Double Trouble + Little Hippo Mug = $78 + $20 + $4 = $102 (this total excludes the base shipping charge)

I’d like to choose the early delivery tier but add on additional Mellas. When should I expect to receive my Mellas?

If you add additional MELLAs to your pledge, we will do our absolute best to ship all your MELLAs in the first shipment. However, we cannot guarantee that we will fulfill your additional MELLAs by the early bird expected delivery date. Our ability to do so will depend on various factors such as demand. We promise to fulfill add-ons in the order in which the pledge is received - the earlier you back us, the more likely you will receive your MELLAs in the same shipment!

If your add-on will be a purple MELLA(s), you will receive the purple MELLA(s) is a separate shipment in February.

What if I want more than one limited edition green MELLA?

At this time, the only way to pledge for multiple green MELLAs is to:

1) choose the Double Trouble: Limited Edition MELLA level, which will give you two limited edition MELLAs, or 2) create multiple Kickstarter accounts if you want more than 2 green MELLAs since it is not available as an add-on.

This is because we only have a limited number of green MELLAs available for February 2018 delivery.

I pledged for "MELLA - Early Delivery" but I want a purple MELLA. What now?

Purple MELLA is available starting in February 2018. You do not need to adjust your reward tier or adjust your pledge amount. If you choose a purple MELLA in your backer survey, your MELLA will be delivered to you in February, not January.

If you want to ADD a purple MELLA to your early delivery reward, you will receive your early delivery reward in January but any purple MELLAs will be delivered in February in a separate shipment. Please review the "How do add-ons work?" in the FAQ for how to add a purple MELLA.

I pledged for "Limited Edition MELLA - Early Delivery" but I want a purple MELLA. What now?

Purple MELLA is available starting in February 2018 and will be $39. You will need to switch your reward tier to "MELLA" with the February 2018 delivery so that you will be charged $39 rather than $40 for purple MELLA.

If you want to ADD a purple MELLA to your early delivery reward, you will receive your early delivery reward in January but any purple MELLAs will be delivered in February in a separate shipment. Please review the "How do add-ons work?" in the FAQ for how to add a purple MELLA.

When should I receive my MELLA?

We plan to ship MELLAs out to our Early Bird backers in January, with the rest of the MELLAs in February. We will do our best to stick to this timeline but if there are unexpected delays, we will strive to keep our backers updated every step of the way.

If your reward includes a purple MELLA(s), the purple MELLA will be shipped in February.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship internationally (with the exception of the Early Bird tiers)! However, international backers will be responsible for applicable tariffs and customs fees.

Why is international shipping so expensive?!

Unfortunately, because of the Kickstarter discount we're offering, we're not able to subsidize as much of the shipping cost for international backers as steeply as other projects on Kickstarter are able to afford to, hence why our shipping costs seem so high. Please rest assured that we ARE partially subsidizing our international shipping costs and not making any "profit" off shipping.

However, the shipping cost per MELLA does go down for every MELLA you add onto your pledge. If you're looking to decrease the shipping cost as an international backer, we hope you will find family or friends who may be willing to back with you! See "What are the shipping fees" for the list of international shipping costs per reward tier.

Is there a warranty or return policy?

While we have a one year warranty on MELLA and would be happy to send a replacement in case of a defect, we unfortunately do not offer refunds or returns on items received as Kickstarter rewards.

Support from our backers allows us to manufacture our products, gain feedback and continuing building our small business! Kickstarter products are referred to as “rewards” because they are not purchases in the traditional sense.

How do I add a KELVIN onto my pledge?

Simply adjust your existing pledge upward by $20 to get a KELVIN added onto your shipment.

KELVIN is available to both international and U.S. backers (ALL BACKERS!). KELVIN is the only add-on that does not require an additional shipping fee on top!

You may choose to get more than one KELVIN by adding on $20 per KELVIN that you would like.

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.

Why can’t I log into my account?

Request a login link to your survey by entering your email here:

BackerKit will send you an automated email with an invite link to whatever email you pledged with.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

Can I upgrade or get multiple copies of my pledge?

This depends on the project creator’s decision. If you are unable to see the ‘Want to switch your pledge level?’ after clicking on your pledge amount under “Pledge Level” in your survey, then the project creator would prefer people not to switch pledge levels.

When you reset your password, you may need to clear your cache and temporary browsing history so that your old password is removed from your saved passwords. Next, use this link to reset your password: https://mella.backerkit.com/backer_accounts/password/new.

I’m having password trouble! - I’ve reset my password but it still doesn’t work!

You may not have an account! You can create an account by clicking the account confirmation link in any survey you have. You can also get started with signing up for a BackerKit account at https://mella.backerkit.com/backer_accounts/sign_up.

If you have created an account and have gone through the previous steps, but are still having trouble, please email us at support@backerkit.com. Let us know any important details (browser type, mobile device or computer, OS, etc).

Do I need a BackerKit account to fill out/receive my survey?

You do not need a BackerKit account to access your surveys through BackerKit BackerKit accounts help to manage and keep track of surveys and are especially helpful for folks who have backed multiple projects.

Do I have an account?

You may or may not have an account set up, but you can access the Account Request Confirmation from the bottom of the confirmation page of any of your surveys.

How do I update my email address in my backer account?

Contact BackerKit support! We will ask you to verify that you are the account holder, and to provide the email address to which you’d like to update. You can verify by either of the following methods:

* Write in to support@backerkit.com from the old email address you want to change. Let us also know the new email address to which you want to update.

* Send us a screenshot of your original pledge that shows your backer number on Kickstarter (or Indiegogo, etc)

How do I delete my backer account?

Email BackerKit support directly at support@backerkit.com. If you delete your account, you will still be able to access your surveys in the future – no account needed.

A backer account helps backers (like you!) to keep their surveys organized. Oftentimes, people who support projects that use crowdfunding support multiple projects across crowdfunding platforms. Any project that uses BackerKit will appear in your BackerKit account, and will allow you to help keep track of updates such as address, items, timelines, support, etc.
